O’Brien Trust Support Coventry Haven by Funding 3 Survivor Workshops for Abuse Victims

Our  donation of £2,500 was more important than ever this year as new referrals to Coventry Haven were up by 60% compared to last year and their emergency cases have been relentless.

Coventry Haven Said:

“The money provided will fund 3 separate Survivor workshops to provide crucial intensive support to women and a specialist age appropriate programme for the children, including confidence/self-esteem, resilience, employment and interview skills, IT skills and languages.”

The organisation is a community based charity run by women for women, who have been based in Coventry for over 48 years, supporting women and children through all types of abuse with a long list of services to provide support, including:

• Safe refuge accommodation including wrap around support
• High risk victims with police/court involvement
• Community
• FGM project
• Forced Marriage/Honour Based Abuse project
• Helpline 7 days a week
• online chat available 7 days a week including evenings and weekends
• IRIS project – GP surgeries
• Ask Me project – community Ambassadors
• Legal clinic
• Professional counselling
• Drop-ins around the city
• Training/awareness raising
• Volunteering opportunities
• Student placements
