CHARITY BALL 2019 – WARWICK CASTLE IN THE GREAT HALL!

A huge thank you to our suppliers, sponsors, those who purchased tickets and packages for the event, those who donated auction prizes and those who bid so generously.  To all those who purchased our Gold Bar Raffle Tickets.  Without all of you our event would not have been the success it was!

Our 2019 Charity Ball was an outstanding success, with over 150 guests in attendance.

Our Itinerary for the Evening was:

  • Guest arrived at the Yew Edge Gate and are led across to the Castle.
  • Drinks reception
  • Guests are invited to take their seats in the Great Hall.
  • Charity game of Bums & Head
  • Dinner is served
  • Auction
  • Live Band (Floral Moustache)

Drinks Reception

Guests arrived at the Yew Edge Gate before being led across to the Castle and were greeted with a drinks reception and a chance to mingle and have a chat before being invited to take their seats in the fabulous surroundings of the stunning Great Hall.

Bums and Heads

Much fun and laughter took place during the hilarious Bums and Heads game elimination game (heads and tails using your body), where Mark Grimes the winner won £100 and a bottle of champagne.

Feuding Knights Battle it Out During a Slap up Meal

Whilst our guests enjoyed a slap up three course meal and drinks, they were entertained by the Castle’s feuding Knights battling it out, which was absolutely fabulous and exciting to watch!

Silent Auction

We had donations of some fabulous auction items at this year’s ball to bid on, raising over £2,000 which included:

After dinner it was time to dance the night away with our fabulous live ban ‘Floral Moustache’!

O’Brien Charitable Trust – Staff Run Charity

Here at O’Brien’s the staff work so hard to raise money throughout the year, organising events to raise money for charity and participating and helping to raise money, so that we can reach that magic £15,000 by 31 December (the O’Brien Directors match that £15,000 if we hit our target) giving us much needed money for the charities that we support.

Gold Bar Raffle Ticket Draw

This year we had a fabulous Gold Bar Raffle, with a certified gold bar in a presentation box worth over £1,200.  The winner of this fabulous prize was Jackie Leedham.

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO THAT IS RAISED IN 2019?

AIR AMBULANCE – Who fly two regional air ambulances, across the counties of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland. These two helicopters provide a rapid response to trauma and medical emergencies over an area of 3850 square miles covering many of the UK’s major road networks and rely on charitable donations to keep flying.

MOLLY HOLLY’S WISHES – Molly Olly’s Wishes supports children with terminal or life threatening illnesses and their families to help with their emotional wellbeing. We grant individual wishes and donate therapeutic toys and books to both children directly and to hospitals throughout the UK.

COVENTY CYRENIANS – Who provide individualised support to promote and enhance the life chances of people in Coventry and Warwickshire who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, and empower them to live as independently as possible. At Coventry Cyrenians their aim is helping people to rebuild their lives.

WOLVERHAMPTON AMATEUR BOXING CLUB – has been operating proudly in the City for over 80 years. Offering children and adults an
opportunity to achieve a level of fitness and improve self-confidence.  O’Brien Charitable Trust is proud to support future aspirations of this club combatting rising knife crime in the area, working together with police to help adolescents involved in knife crime and using the discipline of boxing and seminars from the police in weekly classrooms to reduce the rise in knife crime.
