O’Brien Charitable Trust supports “International Day of Charity”.

Today is “International Day of Charity” and O’Brien is always keen to give back and support worthy causes. O’Brien Charitable Trust has been hard at work over the last six years, raising over £200K for charity. The team have been working with many different charities and most recently with Middleton Hall to help them bring to life their new venture.

O’Brien Charitable Trust (OBCT) along with EH Smith Builders Merchants has supported Middleton Hall in providing them with the materials for their brand-new children’s play area. The materials will be used to build a fort providing a new play facility for the manor house.

Middleton Hall is set in 42 acres of the peaceful North Warwickshire countryside and run by an independent charitable trust. It includes a magnificent Manor House and Georgian Walled Garden with remarkable history. The hall sits in close situ to Bodymoor Heath where O’Brien carried out the contract for the new training ground for Aston Villa FC.  As part of OBCT ethos to support local charities in need and ensure that all the funds go directly to the worthy cause, Middleton Hall was a great fit.

Tony Mitchell, Director said: “It’s great to support the team at Middleton Hall, working closely at our site at Bodymoor Heath, we are keen to ensure that we support local charities and build relationships with the communities surrounding them. We look forward to seeing the new facility and hope that the new venture is a great success.”

Paul Anderson, Middleton Hall, said: “So pleased that you can support Middleton in this new venture. Once the Fort is up and operational, we will be able to arrange a red ribbon for cutting and we can all have a go at “storming the fort!! Thanks again for your support.”

O’Brien look forward to seeing the new venture and wanted to thank EH Smith for their support with this great charitable cause.

About “International Day of Charity” – 05 September

The International Day of Charity was established with the objective of all around the world to help others through volunteer and philanthropic activities.

The 5 September was chosen to commemorate the passing away on 5 September 1997 of Mother Teresa the renowned nun and missionary, who in 1928 went to India, where she devoted herself to helping the destitute. In 1948 she became an Indian citizen and founded the order of Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata (Calcutta) in 1950, which became noted for its work among the poor and the dying in that city.

The General Assembly of the United Nations in its resolution A/RES/67/105 designated the 5th of September, the anniversary of the death of Mother Teresa, as the International Day of Charity.
