Trust Visits Myton Hospice to Support Vital Lymphoedema Care

O’Brien Charitable Trust recently visited Myton Hospice to see firsthand the incredible impact of their latest donation, a state-of-the-art Deep Oscillation Therapy machine.

During the visit, the Trust met with Myton’s dedicated Lymphoedema team to learn how the new equipment will transform treatment for local patients.

Making a Hands-On Difference

Lymphoedema is a painful and debilitating swelling of body tissues, often affecting cancer patients following surgery or radiotherapy. Managing the condition typically requires physical, time-intensive massage techniques.The team at Myton treated 392 patients in 2023/24 alone, providing life-changing relief to help individuals live well for longer. Demand for the service is so high that local NHS Trusts regularly refer outpatients to the hospice.
